Gubernatorial hopefuls begin to announce candidacies

It’s still a little over a year away, but Wyoming’s gubernatorial race is starting to pick up steam.

While only two candidates have officially announced their campaigns thus far — businessman Bill Dahlin and former Rep. Mary Throne, D-Laramie — with Gov. Matt Mead approaching his term limit the race is wide open. Throne’s tossing her hat in the ring on Saturday could begin a slew of announcements in coming weeks.

Despite their political differences as a Democrat and Republican, Dahlin and Throne have similar backgrounds.
