When The Wild Bunch mock gunfighter shows begin on the street outside The Irma on June 3, actors will capture the audience’s attention by shooting a shotgun.
“A gal will shoot a double-barreled shotgun in the air a couple of times and say, ‘Let’s get this show on the road,’” Kenny Martin, long-time organizer of the western re-enactment.
“Boom, boom, and that’s it,” he said.
The 40-minute shows start at 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday through Sept. 23.
The show will otherwise remain the same as last year, Martin said.
By unanimous vote May 7, council members granted The Wild Bunch permission to close the street to traffic 5-7 p.m. and conduct the gunfighter show on 12th between Sheridan and the first alley south through the tourist season. Alcohol will not be permitted on the street.Click here to view the full story
