A splash park is planned for Mentock Park this summer. Cody already has a dog park, a skate park and a bike park. Soon the city will add music park to its list of activity-specific parks.
Using money raised by donations and grants, the Park County Library Foundation has gathered roughly $33,000 to buy and install six outdoor musical instruments with cable attached mallets in the northeast corner of City Park behind the prominent statue of Buffalo Bill holding a child.
The instruments – purchased from Freenotes Harmony Park of Durango, Colo. – will be installed on a circular 20-foot diameter concrete pad at the end of a 30-foot-long sidewalk.
“We’re calling it The Music Park,” Nikki Brew, foundation spokesperson, said at a May 7 council meeting.
