Retired, as well as active military personnel, will receive new discounts when using the Rec Center.
A reduced military rate will apply to day passes and annual memberships purchased by qualifying residents and nonresidents.
Rec center supervisor Mike Fink said to determine eligibility, a service person must simply provide a current U.S. Military ID or, if no longer on active duty, a card such as the Veterans Affairs or Uniform Services ID.
A state driver’s license indicating military service would also be considered valid proof.
“As long as they have something to show they were in the service, we’re good to go,” Fink said.
