Minot Attorney Christene Reierson Appointed to North Central Judicial District

MINOT, N.D.—Gov. Kelly Armstrong has appointed Minot attorney Christene Reierson to an open judgeship in North Dakota’s North Central Judicial District, effective Nov. 16.

Reierson has operated Reierson Law Office P.C. in Minot as a solo practitioner since 2015, handling matters including family law, criminal law, probate, civil litigation, business formation, real estate transactions, estate planning and appeals.

Before entering private practice, she served as an assistant state’s attorney for Ward County from 2009 to 2015. In that role, she reviewed police reports for charging decisions, represented the state in jury trials and motion hearings, prepared appellate briefs and participated in oral arguments before the North Dakota Supreme Court.

Reierson also completed law clerkships in North Dakota and Minnesota from 2006 to 2009.

A Fargo native, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from North Dakota State University and a law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2007.

Reierson is a member of the North Dakota and Ward County bar associations. She has also participated in the North Central Judicial District Treatment Court, first as a representative of the prosecutor’s office from 2010 to 2015 and later as a volunteer defense attorney beginning in 2016.

She was appointed to the Disciplinary Board of the North Dakota Supreme Court in January.

The vacancy was created by the July 17 retirement of Judge Todd Cresap, who was appointed to the bench in 2009 and later elected in 2012, 2016 and 2022.

The North Central Judicial District covers Burke, Mountrail and Ward counties, with the judgeship chambered in Minot.
