Multiple political sources in Montana have confirmed that Zeno Baucus, son of former Montana Senator Max Baucus may be seeking the Democrat nomination for Montana’s lone Congressional seat. The seat will be vacant if current Congressman Ryan Zinke (R) is confirmed as Secretary of the Interior in the Trump Administration early next year.
Zeno Baucus attended Stanford University in California and obtained a law degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Baucus has worked for Washington, D.C. law firm Orrick, Herrington, Sutcliffe, LLP and the United States Attorney for Montana. Zeno was heavily criticized by the Daily Beast along with other Congressional children for using their parents’ connections to obtain high-level positions in corporations and lobbying firms.
Other names being tossed-around on the Democrat side include former Governor Brian Schweitzer, former Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau, and former State Auditor Jon Morrison.
