Former North Dakota police chief guilty of child sex abuse

The former LaMoure police chief, James Watson, was found guilty Monday of continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 15 at a courthouse in Beach, N.D.

Early in the morning, Watson testified on his behalf and denied all the allegations.

In her closing remarks, Golden Valley County State’s Attorney Christina Wenko argued the victim had no reason to lie about the sexual abuse that she suffered, and she was also able to identify a mole on Watson’s inner thigh.
