In observance of Veterans day, the only veteran elected to statewide executive office spoke in front of dozens of current and retired service members at the historic fort Missoula.
Montana Secretary of State Corey Stapleton was the guest speaker at the Veterans day opening ceremonies for the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. Stapleton served a decade as a surface war officer for the U.S. Navy, and addressed the importance of honoring the service and sacrifice of the thousands of Americans in the Armed forces.
Stapleton said while thousands sacrificed their lives decades ago, there’s one thing in common with people serving in the military now.
