Austin Knudsen Enters The Race For Montana Attorney General

Former Speaker of the House Austin Knudsen announced Monday that he is seeking the Republican nomination for Montana’s Attorney General race in 2020.

Knudsen served as a representative from Culbertson in the state Legislature from 2011 to 2017, serving as Speaker of the House during his last four years. He’s the second Republican to enter the Attorney General race.

Knudsen announced his bid for the office on the “Montana Talks” radio show.

He says he decided to run for the leadership of the state’s Department of Justice because not enough has been done to repeal the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

“I’ve fought Obamacare, being in the Legislature. I think it’s done vastly greater harm to the state of Montana than it’s done good.”
