HELENA — A political action committee filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday challenging a Montana law a week after a state Republican lawmaker lodged a complaint about them alleging they are using a name that fails to identify the special interests of contributors, some of whom are fellow GOP legislators.
Doctors for a Healthy Montana filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Missoula against Attorney General Tim Fox and Jeffrey Mangan, the state Commissioner of Political Practices. They say the statute cited by Rep. Joel Krautter, R-Sidney, against them in an April 7 complaint filed with Mangan serves no useful purpose and should be repealed.
