Wyoming National Guard crew headed to California as smoke blows east into Wyoming

WYOMING—The U.S National Weather Service predicts smoke from the western wildfires will begin to move eastward into the afternoon filling the valleys in Northwestern Wyoming with smoke. Jackson remains under a fire weather watch with elevated fire weather conditions predicted until at least Tuesday.

On Sept. 9, during a COVID-19 press conference update, Governor Gordon spoke about activating a Wyoming National Guard crew to fight the fires in California. “I know the people of Wyoming will join me in wishing them a safe journey and safe work saving more lives and more country,” said Gordon.
