A new poll indicates that Republican candidate Tim Sheehy is gaining significant support in the race for the U.S. Senate, leading incumbent Jon Tester by a margin of 51% to 45%. This marks a critical moment in Sheehy’s campaign as he seeks to unseat Tester, who has held the position since 2007.
Montana Republican Party Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt expressed optimism about Sheehy’s chances, stating, “Montanans overwhelmingly support the strong conservative leadership of Governor Gianforte, Attorney General Knudsen, and Secretary of State Jacobsen. They are fired up to send Tim Sheehy to Washington and retire Jon Tester once and for all.” He added that the upcoming election represents a pivotal opportunity for voters to make their voices heard.
The poll, conducted by Public Opinion Strategies,reflect a broader trend of support for Republican candidates across various races in Montana. Governor Greg Gianforte currently leads his opponent, Ryan Busse, with 55% to 36%. Similarly, Attorney General Austin Knudsen holds a strong lead over Ben Alke, 53% to 35%, while Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen is ahead of Jesse Mullen with 48% to 31%.
Additionally, Republican candidates Jim Brown and Susie Hedalen are also leading their respective races for State Auditor and State Superintendent of Public Instruction, further highlighting the momentum for GOP candidates in the state.
With less than 30 days until the election, Sheehy and other Republican contenders are gearing up for a final push to secure their positions, as they look to capitalize on the growing support from Montana voters.
