Governor Brad Little announced today that he has signed House Bill 93, establishing the Parental Choice Tax Credit program, which will provide $50 million in tax credits to help Idaho families access a wide range of educational opportunities.
“With the passage of the $50 million Parental Choice Tax Credit program, Idaho is once again leading the way in offering abundant schooling options for our students and families,” Governor Little said. “This, combined with the continuation of the successful LAUNCH program, positions Idaho as the first state in the nation to offer education freedom from kindergarten through career.”
Governor Little emphasized that this initiative builds upon the state’s robust education investments. “Since I took office, we have dedicated nearly $17 billion to K-12 public education, and we’ve increased public school funding by nearly 60 percent in just a few years,” he stated. “Overall, our investments in education initiatives have grown by 80 percent, ensuring Idaho’s commitment to education continues to thrive.”
He also highlighted Idaho’s top national ranking for its return on investment in public schools, underscoring that the state is successfully balancing strong public education with expanded educational freedom. “Idaho can have it all – strong public schools AND education freedom,” Governor Little added. “Providing high-quality education for Idaho students will always be our top priority.”
