The Choteau Acantha last week won the General Excellence award for Division 2 weekly newspapers (those with circulations of 1,251 to 2,000) in the Montana Newspaper Association’s Better Newspaper Contest for stories, articles and advertisements published in 2024.
Awards were announced at the 140th annual convention of the MNA June 19-21 in Butte at the historic Hotel Finlen.
The other General Excellence winners were the Boulder Monitor for Division 1, weekly newspapers with circulations of up to 1,250, which also won the Thomas Dimsdale Best Weekly Newspaper (for all weekly circulation divisions); the Lewistown News-Argus for Division 3, weekly newspapers with circulations of 2,001 and more; and the Daily Inter Lake of Kalispell for Division 4, newspapers publishing three or more days a week and digital-only publications.
