Yogis practice calming, strengthening moves

The Front Range YogaFest brought 116 yoga enthusiasts, 20 instructors and 10 vendors to Choteau for a weekend of mindfulness and self-awareness on June 20-22.

Event organizer Alyssa Davis and her husband moved to Choteau last year, having lived in Livingston for 25 years. Davis runs Traverse Yoga, an online yoga business in which Davis teaches over a Zoom call. Davis teaches at the Curly Willow in Choteau, and she sells ski vacation packages.

Davis said Rosanne (Balasabas) Lockhart established the festival before moving away from Choteau, and Davis found out about the festival and Choteau and ended up moving here. Davis said Lockhart, an attorney, got married, had a baby and moved away, and, this year, Davis took over the festival, renamed it and carried on the tradition.
