4-H’ers present 400 projects

Teton County 4-H members were judged in a variety of categories and received ribbons and awards during the 4-H Fair June 25-28 in Choteau.

There were 149 4-H members this year with 99 participating in the fair. Members entered 400 projects in the Pavilion and each sat with a volunteer judge to discuss their entries.

Montana State University Extension Agent Shelby Jones-Dozier said the fair was great. “We made it through all the shows, interview judging on Wednesday and livestock on Friday and Saturday,” she added.

“Interview judging is a unique opportunity for community members with content knowledge to conduct interviews with 4-H youth on their projects,” Jones-Dozier said. “At the end of the day Wednesday, many of the adults shared their excitement to talk to kids who had an impressive level of content knowledge and poise. Several of the adults expressed interest in continuing to work with kids on specific projects
