If you wait long enough, the press will always admit conservatives were right all along. The catch is that they’ll only do so when they think they can shift the narrative in their favor. That’s exactly what’s happening regarding illegal immigration and government-funded healthcare.

For well over a decade, the official line has been to denounce anyone on the right who says illegal immigrants receive taxpayer-funded healthcare as pushers of “disinformation.” Who could forget Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) shouting “you lie” during one of Barack Obama’s State of the Union addresses, only to be denounced by every mainstream press outlet in existence?
Well, his time of redemption has arrived because with the recent GOP reconciliation package cutting Medicaid funding to illegal immigrants, the press needs a reboot.
