CBP Officer Shot, Alleged Suspect Is Reportedly an Illegal Alien – And That’s Not All

An off-duty Customs and Border Patrol officer was shot in the face on Friday night in Fort Washington Park in Manhattan at about 11:50 p.m. 

He was sitting on a rock by the Hudson River with a female companion when he was approached by two men on a moped in what is suspected to be an attempted robbery. One of the men then allegedly fired at the officer, hitting him in the face and the arm. The officer then fired back, wounding the suspect.

That suspect then went to a hospital, where he was taken into custody. The second suspect is still at large. The officer is in stable condition. 

The Department of Homeland Security made a statement saying it looked like an attempted robbery and that “one of the alleged perpetrators was an illegal alien with prior arrests for felony 2nd and 3rd degree assault and an order
