After months of administrative leave, Theresa Ortega of Good Samaritan Ministries is officially retiring from her place as executive director, the nonprofit announced Monday.
“As Theresa transitions to retirement, GSM and the Helena community honor her lasting contributions in fostering compassion and advocating for the dignity of all people,” Dan Bartleson of the Catholic Diocese of Helena wrote in a press release.

Good Samaritan is an arm of the Diocese, focusing on charity work through its thrift store, street outreach and Our Place, a drop-in shelter for the unhoused.
Ortega served Good Samaritan for 16 years, 11 as executive director. During her tenure, she focused on serving those
