Ground stops spurred by tropical storm causes travel chaos at airports along the East Coast — including JFK and LGA

A tropical storm rolling towards the Gulf of America sparked a series of delays at major airports trailing up the entire East Coast on Monday evening, including JFK and LaGuardia.

The Federal Aviation Administration extended numerous ground stops at more than a dozen major airports from Florida to New York, lasting through the evening and causing delays up to four hours long.
