Hakeem Jeffries Breaks Dubious Record in Mind-Numbing Speech Made to Stall Vote on OBBB

If you’re wondering why the final vote on the formerly named One Big Beautiful Bill hasn’t occurred yet, you have one man to thank: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who stalled the proceedings with a speech that lasted an agonizing eight hours and eight hours and 44 minutes. The endless monologue was so boring that it put some of his own party members to sleep.

In doing so he broke a dubious record: longest House floor speech, an “honor” previously held by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) who spoke for eight hours and 32 minutes in 2021.

🚨 JUST IN: Hakeem Jeffries ends his floor speech just *MINUTES* after breaking the record

Which just PROVES this was a grandstanding measure.

All about him. He wanted HIS name next to this record.

It had NOTHING to do with the bill.

Pathetic. You’re a FRAUD, @RepJeffries pic.twitter.com/LTy2VDSHHb
