Texas woman accused of sending chocolates dosed with fentanyl to her ex-husband

A woman is accused of dosing chocolates with fentanyl in Parker County, Texas, and sending the candy to her ex-husband in the hopes of killing him.

The Parker County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that Pamela Jean Stanley, 63, told an acquaintance that she wanted to get powdered fentanyl and put it into chocolate.

The second part of the alleged plan, PCSO said, involved Ms. Stanley sending the chocolates to her ex-husband, but making it look like the candy was from a travel agency sending him an engagement gift and incentive offer for his honeymoon trip.

Ms. Stanley, the sheriff’s office said, drove several hours away from Coleman, Texas, thinking she was about to buy the fentanyl. She is alleged to have attempted to make the purchase of the drug from people who turned out to be PCSO undercover detectives.
