‘That’s Not Too Elegant’: Trump Pokes Fun at Jeffries’ OBBB House Floor Speaking Stunt

President Donald Trump clearly felt jubilant on Friday at a Fourth of July celebration at the White House, where he poked fun at House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries’ (D-NY) never-ending speaking stunt ahead of the vote for the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB).

Speaking to guests at the White House, who had gathered for a military family picnic and the official signing of the OBBB, Trump brought up Jeffries and his attempt to stall the vote with a speech that lasted eight-hours-and-44-minutes (36:42 minute mark).

“They [Democrats] have a routine. It’s terrible, they say, it’s terrible, terrible,” Trump said. “You saw that guy standing up for hours yesterday. He didn’t know what he was even doing there. I said, ‘When’s he sitting down?’ He’s got a towel, he’s wiping his face. That’s not too elegant.”
