In my earlier column, I predicted that Mamdani would lose, based on the following two factors:
There was going to be bigger turnout, as moderates came to the polls to defeat the lunatic, communist, and antisemite.
Cuomo had a huge edge in spending.

I was wrong on both accounts. In 2025, the turnout was 1,006,294, versus in 2021, when it was only 801,829. So, it was bigger, but it clearly was not made up of more moderate voters. And the Cuomo fiscal edge was less wide than it appeared.
