Top Republican leaders from Montana converged in Billings today, just a week after former President Donald Trump’s visit to Bozeman. U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson headlined the event, underscoring the critical need to uphold conservative values in today’s political climate.
Montana’s Attorney General Austin Knudsen, State Auditor Troy Downing, Congressman Ryan Zinke, and Governor Greg Gianforte—all of whom are on the ballot this November—were also present. Each leader took the opportunity to voice their commitment to shared Republican priorities such as securing the southern border, curbing government spending, and achieving a Republican majority in Congress.
Speaker Mike Johnson delivered a powerful address, stressing the importance of preserving the nation’s foundational principles.
“We are the strongest, most successful, most powerful, and most benevolent nation ever,” Johnson asserted. “This success is not by accident but because it is grounded in our foundational principles. Here’s the challenge: When I speak about these values among conservatives, there is strong agreement. However, when we present these same principles in Washington, we face a different reality. Many of our Democratic counterparts are not the moderate Democrats of the past; they are socialists and progressives who hold a deep disdain for our nation’s founding principles.”
