Updated: Jericho Mountain fire now 89% contained, hot spots being monitored

The Jericho Mountain fire, reported Sunday, June 15, is burning about 5 miles south of MacDonald Pass off U.S. Highway 12 in Powell County.

Jericho Mountain fire now listed at 89% contained

The Jericho Mountain fire, which has been burning near Rimini since June 15, was listed at 89% contained Monday night.

Northern Rockies Complex Incident Management Team 6 had been overseeing firefighting efforts since June 21. Officials said it was going to be turned over to a Type 3 team early Wednesday.

There were 332 personnel assigned to the fire as of Monday night, down from 428 people earlier in the day.
