President Donald Trump made news on Tuesday night when he announced a historic trade deal with Japan, which followed news earlier in the day of a deal with Indonesia.

Speaking to congressional Republicans at an event in the East Room at the White House, President Trump announced that he had just “signed the largest trade deal in history” with Japan.

“I think maybe the largest deal in history. They had their top people here, and we worked on it long and hard. And it’s a great deal for everybody,” Trump said, noting that there was “a lot of money” flowing into the U.S.

“The tariffs kicked
