Author Ciara Ryan will sign copies of her new release “Henry Sieben and the Montana Story” at the Montana Book Company 6-7 p.m. Thursday.
“Henry’s untold story expands our understanding of Montana’s history,” Ryan said. “He arrived in the territory a young immigrant, and his simple values of hard work and family helped shape this state’s trajectory and built an agricultural legacy that continues today.”
Sieben was born in Germany in 1847 and immigrated to Illinois with his family at 5. At 17, he was left orphaned and joined his brother Leonard onto pioneer John Bozeman’s wagon train in 1864 to settle in Montana, where he built a legacy in the founding industries of the state.
