Interactive Brokers Earnings Due After the Bell Thursday

GREENWICH, Conn.—Interactive Brokers Group is scheduled to report third-quarter results after the market closes Thursday, giving investors a fresh look at one of the fastest-growing major U.S. brokerage platforms.

The company plans to release results at approximately 4 p.m. Eastern time, followed by a conference call at 4:30 p.m.

Analysts are looking for earnings of roughly 67 cents to 70 cents a share, with revenue expectations centered around $1.9 billion.

Interactive Brokers enters the report with continued growth in customer accounts and trading activity. The company reported 5.58 million client accounts at the end of September, up 35% from a year earlier.

Investors will be watching whether that customer growth continues to translate into higher commissions, interest income and overall profitability.

Interest income remains a particularly important part of the company’s results. Interactive Brokers earns revenue from customer cash balances and margin loans, making the level of interest rates and customer borrowing activity significant drivers of earnings.

Trading volumes will also be in focus. Increased activity across stocks, options, futures and other products can lift commission revenue, particularly during periods of elevated market volatility.

The company has also continued expanding its product lineup and international reach. Recent initiatives include broader cryptocurrency offerings, additional access to overseas markets and new integrations connecting brokerage accounts with artificial-intelligence platforms.

Interactive Brokers reported second-quarter earnings of 69 cents a share on revenue of $1.88 billion, both ahead of Wall Street expectations.

Thursday’s results will show whether the company maintained that momentum through the third quarter as markets remained active and its customer base continued to expand.
