Scott Roy McLean announced this week that he is running for the vacant seat in the Montana legislature held by Fred Thomas, who is term limited and therefore unable to run for that position again in 2020.
The district extends from Corvallis to Florence. The primary election is next June.
McLean is the owner of Montana Legacy Law, PLLC and Montana Legacy Realty, LLC, and he is a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the town of Stevensville.
McLean has worked for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee under Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch and he has worked on the campaign of current U.S. Senator Pat Toomey. While working for the Judiciary Committee, McLean worked on legal arguments opposing Obamacare.
McLean said his driving focus if elected will be to help protect Montanans from federal overreach.
