Wyo. Business Council awarded SBA export funding

The U.S. Small Business Administration awarded $18 million in funding to 44 State international trade agencies through SBA’s competitive State Trade Expansion Program (STEP), to support export growth among U.S. small businesses.  The Wyoming Business Council was awarded $221,431 to assist small businesses in Wyoming expand their market through exporting.

STEP is designed to increase both the number of small businesses that begin to export and the value of exports for small businesses currently exporting.  Expanding the base of small business exporters and making the process as easy as possible is a key component of the Administration’s small business strategy.

The Wyoming Business Council will use STEP award funds to support export development for eligible small business concerns to include: educational webinars, training geared toward manufactures, and non-manufacturers, trade shows, energy industry trade mission, manufacturing industry trade mission, manufacturing trade show and an outdoor recreation trade show.  The Wyoming Business Council’s STEP manager is Briana Tanaka.
