Montana Attorney General Tim Fox has joined 22 other states attorneys general urging Congress to pas legislation establishing nationwide reciprocity for concealed weapons permits.
Spokesman Eric Sell said these bills would allow concealed carry permits to be recognized in all 50 states and U.S. Territories, regardless of where they were issued.
“Self defense is a fundamental component of the Second Amendment,” said Sell. “What these bills would do is allow individuals who have rightfully obtained a concealed carry permit in their state to be able to use that permit regardless of which state they are in.”
Sell said qualifying for a concealed carry permit is not easy in any state.
