Outfitter, clients accused of illegal Montana mountain lion hunt

Five men are facing charges in federal court related to two outfitted mountain lion hunts in 2013 near White Sulphur Springs and Wolf Creek that authorities allege were illegal.

Charged in U.S. District Court are Ernest Jablonsky, a licensed outfitter with Montana Big Game Pursuits; Mitch Theule, a guide with Montana Big Game Pursuits; James V. Day, a dog handler; Richard Ceynar of North Dakota, who hired Big Game Pursuits to take him lion hunting; and Jeffrey Perlewitz, of Wisconsin, who also hired Montana Big Game Pursuits for a lion hunt.

The cases involve two separate clients and hunts arranged through Montana Big Game Pursuits of Plains.
