WinCo and the owners of the proposed grocery store location paid union members $15,000 to settle a lawsuit against the city of Bozeman, according to court documents.
While the lawsuit was between the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 4 and the city of Bozeman, the city did not pay any money in the settlement.
The $15,000 was paid by WinCo Foods and Gallatin TR LP, the owners of the property where WinCo is proposing to build. It was split into three $5,000 payments for the three union members who filed the lawsuit: Samara Yanny, John Robert McGowen Jr. and Joel Dunbar. Bozeman officials released the settlement documents at the Chronicle’s request.
