New Citizens to Be Welcomed in Fargo During Federal Naturalization Ceremonies

The United States District Court for the District of North Dakota has announced it will host two naturalization ceremonies in Fargo on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, to welcome approximately 200 new American citizens.

The ceremonies will take place at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Sanctuary Events Center, located at 670 4th Avenue North. The public is invited to attend and witness the swearing-in of individuals from 51 different countries.

U.S. District Judge Daniel L. Hovland will preside over the morning ceremony, where North Dakota State Representative Zachary Ista is scheduled to deliver remarks. In the afternoon, U.S. Chief District Judge Peter D. Welte will oversee proceedings, with former State Representative Shannon Roers Jones offering keynote remarks.

The ceremonies mark a significant milestone for each participant as they take the Oath of Allegiance and officially become United States citizens.

The events are open to the public and are expected to draw families, community members, and officials in celebration of the newest members of the American civic community.
