FMDH Camp Med Delivers A Hands-On Dose of Discovery & Fun

Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital (FMDH) recently wrapped up another exciting week of Camp Med, a two-day interactive experience designed to introduce local students to the diverse world of healthcare careers. Now in its third year for middle schoolers and second for high schoolers, the camp continues to draw more interest and enthusiastic participation, with 21 middle schoolers (June 9–10) and 14 high schoolers (June 11–12) taking part this year.

Hosted at FMDH, Camp Med ran daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering students a real-world glimpse into both clinical and non-clinical roles in healthcare. From the ER and surgery to human resources and hospital administration, campers explored the many interconnected departments that work together to deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care.
