It’s as predictable as the sun coming up in the morning. A socialist or, in this case, an outright communist candidate for office starts spouting the various far-left schemes, like rent controls. When it’s (correctly) noted that those policies fail every time they’re tried, the candidate doubles down on stupid, normally claiming that “that wasn’t real socialism” and “all we need are the right people in charge.” This is a fundamental law of the universe, which shall henceforth be known as “Clark’s Law of Socialist Top Men,” which states, “Socialist candidates will always claim previous failures are due, not to the stupidity of the policy, but due to not having the right Top Men in charge.”
