Tyler Newcombe has stepped down as executive director of the Montana Republican Party (MTGOP) after serving in the role since January, the party announced this month.
“It has been an incredible honor to work with such a dedicated team on advancing conservative values across Montana,” Newcombe said in a statement. “I’m proud of what we accomplished together and confident that the MTGOP is well-positioned for the future.”
During his tenure, Newcombe oversaw the party’s operations during the 2025 legislative session, set fundraising records, and helped shape long-term strategies aimed at securing future GOP victories.
“I appreciate Tyler’s service to the Montana Republican Party and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” MTGOP Chairman Art Wittich said. The party expects to name a new executive director in the coming weeks.
Alongside Newcombe’s departure, the MTGOP announced Ethan Holmes as its new communications director. Holmes, a University of Montana graduate with experience in both politics and journalism, will manage press outreach and serve as the party’s primary media contact.
Party leaders say they remain focused on advancing the conservative agenda endorsed by voters, expanding their grassroots network, and maintaining Montana’s Republican dominance.
