The Wyoming Transportation Commission has awarded $22.7 million in contracts for seven construction projects across the state, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced following the commission’s August meeting.
The largest contract, valued at $8.29 million, went to Idaho-based H-K Contractors, Inc., for asphalt paving, fencing, grading, traffic control, and chip seal work on about 34 miles of U.S. Highway 30 in Lincoln County. Work is scheduled for completion by Oct. 31, 2026.
Worland-based McGarvin-Moberly Construction Co. received a $3.05 million contract for asphalt paving, fencing, milling, grading, and chip seal projects on roughly 12 miles of U.S. Highways 26 and 287 in Fremont County. That project is expected to be completed by June 30, 2027.
In Campbell County, Concrete Works of Colorado, Inc., LLC, was awarded a $2.08 million contract for intersection reconstruction and slab replacement on Wyoming Highway 59 and U.S. Highways 14/16 in Gillette. The completion date is set for July 31, 2026.
Two bridge replacement projects were also awarded: a $1.4 million contract to Utah-based W.W. Clyde & Co. for work on County Road 3 over Third Sand Creek in Carbon County, and an $854,836 contract to Montana-based TCA Group, Inc. for a bridge over Four Mile Creek on County Road 603, also in Carbon County. Those projects are scheduled to finish in October 2026 and July 2026, respectively.
King Enterprises of Mills received a $1.18 million contract for right-of-way improvements, including fencing and clearing work, on about 3.7 miles of U.S. Highway 189/191 between Daniel Junction and Bondurant Road in Sublette County. Completion is scheduled for September 30, 2026.
Separately, the commission awarded a $5.83 million contract, funded primarily with state dollars, to Lovell-based Mountain Construction Co. for work on 10 miles of U.S. Highways 14/16/20 between Yellowstone National Park and Cody in Park County. The project includes asphalt paving, chip seal, stormwater drainage, and aggregate surfacing and is expected to be complete by Oct. 31, 2026.
WYDOT said most contracts are funded primarily with federal dollars and are typically awarded to the lowest bidder.
