During the week of June 8 through 14, Glasgow’s James Pearson and Cameron Nelson, as well as Hinsdale’s Lilith Bear, Addison Idler and Charlee McColly participated in the Montana American Legion Boys State and the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State at the Carroll College campus with time also spent at the Montana State Capitol.
The week was filled with 107 students from all over the state gaining insights into local, county and state government functions. These students ran all components of the Supreme Court trial, fatality trial, and debated 80 bills in committees, House, and Senate Chambers.
Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen provided the welcoming remarks and touched on the roles and responsibilities of the Secretary of State’s Office.
