State Rep. Tom Woods said Thursday he will challenge GOP Congressman Greg Gianforte for Montana’s at-large congressional seat in the House of Representatives.
“Montanans deserve a government that is by people and for people,” the Bozeman Democrat said. “That principle is what this country was founded on. The principle of putting people first is what made this country great and that’s what built a strong middle class.”
Woods, 56, speaking from the Baxter hotel ballroom in Bozeman, said he would seek a bold, progressive agenda that represents “true Montana values.” He cited health care, education and the economy as issues he will highlight during his campaign.
